This simple, 2-step alignment system makes it very
easy to aim your
satellite dish every time you set it up!
STEP 1
STEP 2
Step 1 - Install the Compass into the center hole of
the tripod, align the sight-line with the center-line of the H&G eZEE-AIM© scale and turn the tripod to the correct
azimuth setting.
Step 2 - Install the mast assembly and
satellite dish, setting the index mark of the mast
assembly on the center-line of the scale.
The dish is now pointed within 2-3 degrees of the correct
azimuth setting.

The
H&G HEAVY-DUTY TRIPOD PACKAGE
This Heavy-Duty Aluminum Tripod is designed specifically to
support large-size satellite dishes, such as the new
DirecTV Slimline HD Satellite Dish.
This tripod will support most standard and HD TV satellite dishes
that have a mast size of either 1 5/8" or 2" diameter with a maximum weight of
35 lbs.

with the make and model number.
This tripod was made to our specifications by CST/Berger,
a leading manufacturer of industrial tripods and surveying equipment.
Each leg adjusts in length individually, making it easy to
level the tripod's mounting platform using the circular bubble level supplied.
The tripod is securely anchored with the tie-down stake and
heavy-duty bungee cord supplied, or you may use any of the alternate methods suggested in
the instructions.
The removable mast assembly makes it easy to "pre-aim" the
tripod, using the Coleman Lensatic Compass with the
H&G eZEE-AIM© Tripod System,
and be within 2-3 degrees of the correct azimuth every time.
When folded, the tripod is quite compact and measures
38"X6"X6"
It opens to a minimum height of 34" or a maximum height of 61"
(with a normal 32" leg spread). The legs can be extended with a wider
stance for greater stability in high-wind areas.

ANCHORING THE HEAVY-DUTY TRIPOD
The Heavy-Duty Tripod
comes equipped with a ground screw stake and a strong bungee cord to make it easy to
anchor when setting up on soft ground (Fig. 1). When setting up on a hard surface
(i.e. gravel or concrete), we recommend using a 5 gallon pail, filled with water, as
ballast (Fig. 2). When empty, the pail weighs less than 3 lbs, however, when filled
with 5 gallons of water it weighs over 45 lbs. The pail can also double as storage
when not used as ballast. The 5 gallon pails are easily available. Fig. 3
shows the new, improved anchor hook on our heavy-duty tripod. The anchor system
shown in Fig. 2 allows this tripod to be used in a variety of setups, such as in an
apartment that does not allow dishes to be attached to the building. It can easily
be set up on a porch or patio to comply with rental policies.

We use the same
tripod that is sold at both Lowes,
Home
Depot, and similar stores, however we make some modifications, such as adding
a stronger hold down fixture to attach the bungee cord. Please note that some earlier
models of this tripod had a smaller center hole than the present 2
1/2" size. This mast and compass will not fit in the smaller size hole. The
stores often sell two styles - flat top and dome top. Our mast system must be used
on ONLY the flat top models.
